Pop-up ads are a type of online announcement that is used to entice potential customers or catch email addresses. These windows annoyingly pop up with an advertisement that most people click on in hopes of getting rid of it.

After clicking on the annoying ad the users are transported to the ads destination site. Look carefully at these, there is usually a very tiny X in these windows, if you click on it, this gets rid of the ad.

But what if the pop ups are continuous? How do we avoid them? The best thing to do is use your browser’s built in pop up blocker. You can choose a few different options. One hundred percent pop up blocking, the block list which will prevent that site from continuing to send you pop ups, the keyword block list so that you will only see pop ups you wish to see while preventing annoying ads you are not interested in, or set a limit on the number of open windows you can have.
