You can also prevent spamming in your MSN instant messaging by following these simple steps. It may take several steps, but of course, the end result is worth the effort. Here is what you will need to do:

Just Me

  1. Sign in with your MSN email address and password at http://account.live.com
  2. On the sidebar to the left, select Profiles
  3. Then select “Edit your shared profile”
  4. To the left on the next page you will see “Social”, select it.
  5. Next to Permissions click “Anyone on the internet” and change that to Just Me

When you have finished making the changes, simply save it and you are finished. If you have a different instant messaging system, take your time and go through your account. Each system is different but there should still be a way to make certain your profile can be set to private. If they can’t see you, they can’t spam you.
