E-Mail-Spam
Junk e-mail, is a type of spam that incorporates nearly identical advertisements sent to unfortunate recipients using e-mail. Junk e-mail is sent to billions of e-mail addresses every day. Spam frustrates, confuses and annoys us.
In many cases spam e-mail is unfortunately still considered legal. Thanks to the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, which states that companies can send us spam e-mail as long as the advertisements adhere to the specifications.
Spammers can collect e-mail addresses from websites, customer lists, newsgroups and even chat rooms. Some spammers also create viruses intended to gather address book information. How can we hope to counter such aggressive and underhanded tactics? We will, of course, be discussing what actions we can take as individuals.
Anti-Spam Methods
Anti-spam methods can be separated into four general groups:

- Automated by e-mail administrators
